Missing Coral Springs Girl Found Safe: Police

A 9-year-old girl from Coral Springs who was reported missing Friday has been found safe, according to Coral Springs police.

Hope McGruder, of Coral Springs, had been reported missing by her family who last saw her near the family home in the 2500 block of Coral Springs Drive early Friday morning. The mother reportedly woke up to find the front door ajar around 9 a.m., police said.

A large search began that included dogs and a Broward Sheriff's Office helicopter.

Hope was found approximately two-and-a-half  hours later walking around the golf course not far from the home.

The girl had been spotted near the ninth hole of Coral Springs Country Club Golf Course, about a mile from her home, Coral Springs Police Capt. Bradley Mckeone said.

At this point it's likely no charges will be filed, Mckeone said.
