Crash Between Tractor Trailers Causes Morning Closure of U.S. 27 Section in Broward County

NBC 6’s Darryl Forges has the latest on the second crash between tractor trailers in as many days, this one shutting down part of the roadway in Broward County.

For the second straight day, a crash between two tractor trailers is causing a traffic nightmare on part of U.S. 27 in Broward County.

Crews responded to the scene near the northbound intersection of Pines Blvd. around 3:30 AM. One of the drivers was taken to the hospital, but his condition is unknown at this time.

Officials shut down the road at that intersection around 6 AM to clean up the gravel that spilled from the truck that was hit as well as the diesel fuel from both trucks. Both lanes re-opened shortly after 10 AM.

Tuesday, a similar crashed caused a closure of the southbound lanes just north of I-75.
