Officials are recovering a man's body that was found Wednesday in the waters off Hillsboro Inlet.
The man, who is in his 60's or 70's, was a part of a group of divers who went out early morning for the first full day of lobster mini-season, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.
The group surfaced at around 9 a.m., but the man went back into the water alone and never came back.
As officials searched for the man in the waters, a group of recreational divers spotted a body underwater and contacted emergency services, BSO said.
The BSO Marine Unit said it was in the process of recovering the body of a middle-aged man. His identity was not released.
BSO is handling the death investigation and the medical examiner is determining an official cause of death.
