One Dead, Three Injured in Lauderhill Shooting Day After Double Shooting

A day after two people were seriously wounded in a double shooting in Lauderhill, four others were injured in another incident of gun violence not far away, authorities said. 

One person died and three others were injured in the Saturday evening shooting, police said. The incident occurred near a pool party in the 5300 block of NW 24th Court, according to the Lauderhill Police Department. 

An initial investigation revealed that one man and one woman were transported to Broward Health in serious condition. Authorities later said there were a total of four victims, one of whom died from his injuries.

One victim was treated on-scene for her injuries and was later released. Another victim transported himself to University Hospital in Tamarac and appears to be in good condition, officials said. 

Officers found Dwayne Marvin Smith in front of a silver car around 5 p.m. The 34-year-old man later died from his injuries, officers said.

The shooting is believed to have stemmed from an argument or dispute, according to witnesses on the scene and officers. Details of the dispute are currently unknown. 

The incident happened just blocks away from the site of a shooting that happened Friday night. A man and a woman were hospitalized following that shooting.
