Driver Accused of Fleeing Coconut Creek Cops Charged in Death of Teen Passenger

An 18-year-old woman was killed over the weekend after the car she was a passenger in lost control and crashed as the driver tried to flee Coconut Creek Police, officials said. The passenger in the car, 18-year-old Abigail Espinoza, was taken to Broward Health North where she later died.

A driver who led officers on a chase in Coconut Creek that ended in a crash in Margate that killed his 18-year-old passenger back in December has been arrested in her death, officials said Monday.

Fabreece Lorenz Ductan, 20, is facing multiple charges including negligent manslaughter and reckless driving in the Dec. 2 crash that killed Abigail Espinoza.

According to an arrest report, Coconut Creek Police stop to stop Ductan in the 7000 block of W. Sample Road when he took off. Ductan was traveling at speeds of more than 100 MPH as he fled on Rock Island Road, eventually losing control of the car and crossing into oncoming traffic, the report said.

Ductan struck the median before colliding with a car that was heading in the opposite direction in Margate, the report said.

Espinoza was taken to Broward Health North where she later died. Ductan was also hospitalized for non-life threatening injuries.

Officers found about two pounds of marijuana in Ductan's car, the report said.

Ductan was being held on more than $90,000 bond Monday, jail records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.
