Family and friends came together Wednesday night to raise money for the burial of a young woman who was shot and killed in Lauderhill.

People and cars filled Northwest 7th Court in Fort Lauderdale for one cause Wednesday night: 19-year-old Nicole Grier.

"She had a lot of love for everybody and everybody had a lot of love for her," Grier's sister Kywana Bosket said.

Friends and family members are raising money to pay for Grier's burial, selling T-shirts for $20 a piece and cooking and selling food.

"It hurts," Nicole's father Keith Bosket said. "We're just coping with it. That's all we can do."

Both Nicole's father and sister talked about her smile.

"She had a smile that no one else in the world can have," Kywana Bosket said. "It brought up the whole day. Since it happened, the sun hasn't been out because we haven't had her smile."

"When you see her, she's smiling," her father said. "She was a real fun girl. She's going to be greatly missed."

Monday the 19-year-old mother was gunned down outside a Lauderhill home in the 3300 block of Northwest 18th Street. She was killed putting her infant son into her car.

Police are still looking for the person responsible for the murder. While Nicole's killer is still out there, her friends and family are coming together to remember her, then bury her, on what will be her son's first birthday.

There is a $3,000 reward for information leading to an arrest in the case. Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
