Officials say the crash occurred just before 1:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes leaving Miami Beach, saying the car drove into the shoulder and bicycle lanes before hitting a bicyclist and leaving the scene.
The victim, who has not been identified, died at the scene.
Just before 4 p.m., police said they found the vehicle involved and have identified a person of interest but have not released any additional details.
