Fire Causes Major Damage to Pompano Beach Storage Facility

NBC 6’s Jessica Vallejo has more on the fire that damaged dozens of storage units Friday morning.

Crews spent much of Friday morning putting out a large fire that broke out inside a storage facility in Pompano Beach.

Fire rescue crews arrived at the scene located near the 1000 block of South Dixie Highway just after 2 a.m. to extinguish the one-alarm fire at the facility.

Several storage units at Extra Space Storage could be seen with heavy damage as a result of the smoke and flames.

Officials said nine units suffered fire damage while smoke damage occurred in all 40 units, resulting in an estminated $250,000 worth of damage.

No injuries were reported.
