A Fort Pierce high school teacher has been arrested on six counts of lewd or lascivious conduct with six teenage female victims, according to the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office.
Dan Allen Hussan, 68, was arrested Friday and booked at the Indian River County Jail on $600,000 bond, deputies said.
Hussan, a language arts teacher at Fort Pierce Westwood High School, allegedly touched some students in the thighs, shoulders, arms and hands, while making sexual comments such as "I can't wait until you're 18," according to the Palm Beach Post. He also convinced some of the students to go to dinner, the mall and sporting events with him, where they would talk and he would continue to touch them, the Post reported.
The teacher also asked his students to sit close to his desk, under which police found a mirror that was directed at the victims, according to the Post.
Officials said Hussan's "conduct went well beyond a casual or friendly contact" in the probable cause statement, according to deputies.
Deputies said the illegal activity had been taking place with 14- and 15-year-old victims since last August. After several victims reported him, Hussan was reassigned to the school's administrative office before being taken into custody.
