Gas Giveaway Marks End to 14 Days of Neighborly Love

It’s been a long time since drivers like Janelle Delgado has seen gas prices in the $2 range. “I don’t know,” said Delgado. “I think I was like 10 years old.” On Monday, Feb. 27 the price for regular fuel was rolled back to $2.27 at The Finish Line gas station in Sweetwater. Delgado said she recently spent more than double the special price per gallon to fill up her tank. The discounted gas giveaway wraps up Miami-Dade County Commissioner Jose “Pepe” Diaz’s “14 Days of Neighborly Love” campaign. “We really enjoyed doing it. I think it’s really important we do things like this,” he told NBC 6.
