Police are continuing their plan of keeping South Florida safe this holiday weekend by ceasing illegal fireworks. NBC 6’s Julia Bagg has more.
Authorities say some 3,000 pounds of illegal fireworks were found in a Lauderhill warehouse Thursday.
The fireworks were found at the warehouse in the 3700 block of Northwest 16th Street.
Lauderhill Fire Rescue officials said code enforcement had received a tip about the warehouse.
The building was evacuated and the power was cut off, officials said. The fireworks will be taken out Friday and disposed of, officials said.
