Man Accused of Punching Prisoner After Being Arrested for Stealing Ambulance

Hours after being arrested for allegedly stealing an ambulance, police say a man punched an inmate while being booked into jail.

The Miami Herald reports that 45-year-old Alberto LaGuardia was arrested Friday night after stealing an ambulance from Kendall Regional Medical Center and driving it to a Publix parking lot in Doral.

LaGuardia told police he stole the ambulance because he was beaten up at the hospital and wanted to leave.

According to the newspaper, after LaGuardia was transported to Miami-Dade’s Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, he punched another inmate while waiting to be booked.
