NBC 6’s Carolina Peguero has more on what police are saying they’re looking for after the incident Wednesday night.
Miami Police are searching for the car that struck a man Wednesday night in Little Havana during a hit-and-run crash that sent him to an area hospital.
Officials say the crash took place between Southwest 8th Avenue and 7th Street around 8:30 p.m., where the victim was crossing the street near a bus stop when he was struck.
The victim was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center with severe injures to his leg and remains in critical condition.
The victim’s family returned to the scene of the crash Thursday morning, identifying him as 37-year-old Luis Miguel Barroso. They say he went by “Mickey.”

"He’s a lovable person, and he's a great person,” said Nincy Barroso, his sister. "I don’t understand why anyone would do that, like if you have a heart, just come forward, this is inhumane."
Nincy Barroso said her brother lost one leg in the crash.
Police have not released any details on the driver involved in the crash, but said they are looking for a white Masarati believed to be involved.

“It should have front end damage and windshield damage,” said Miami Police Officer Michael Vega.
