Man in ‘Quality Education' Shirt Sought in Pompano Beach Armed Robberies: BSO

The Broward Sheriff';s Office is searching for the suspect, who they say targeted two gas stations in four days, wearing a "Vote Yes! for quality education for our children's futures" shirt during one of the robberies.

The first robbery happened Nov. 4 at the Liberty Gas Station at 3000 W. Copans Road when the man entered with something covering his face, BSO officials said. The man pointed a handgun at the clerk and told him to put money in a bag, then forced the clerk and a customer to get on the ground while he fled the store, officials said.

The second robbery happened Nov. 8 at the Mobil Gas Station at 1481 S. Pompano Parkway, as the robber wore the distinctive red shirt. The man again demanded money from the clerk at gunpoint then fled after making the clerk get on the ground, officials said.

Officials described the suspect as a black male, about 5-foot-6 and 200 pounds with a stocky build.

A reward of up to $3,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest. Anyone with info is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
