Police are investigating a shooting outside a home in Miami's Little Havana neighborhood that left one man dead Thursday morning.

Miami Police said the shooting took place just before 2:45 a.m. near the intersection of Northwest 25th Avenue and 9th Street. Officers arrived at the scene and found a man believed to be in his 40s suffering from gunshot wounds.

The victim, whose identity wasn't released, was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition and later died.

Police did not release additional details in the case, including information on a possible shooter or a motive, other than that they're looking for a white vehicle.

The deadly shooting concerned residents who said violence isn't common in their neighborhood.

“This neighborhood has always been safe,” said one neighbor, speaking anonymously. “We’ve never had any problems here, this is the first time I’ve heard such a thing in this neighborhood."
