NBC 6’s Michael Spears has exclusive video of a police officer who was released from the hospital after he was injured in a crash.
A Miami-Dade Police motorcycle officer was hospitalized following a crash with a taxi cab near Miami International Airport Monday.
Officials said the motorman and taxi were on the North Service Road when they crashed. The impact threw the officer off the motorcycle.
The officer was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center with multiple non-life threatening injuries. The taxi driver wasn't injured.
Officials said the officer is a 19-year veteran assigned to the airport district and was on routine patrol.
The cause of the crash was unknown.
