Miami Police Officer Injured in Traffic Crash

A City of Miami officer was rushed to the hospital after being hurt in an accident, officials say.

A Miami police officer was injured in a traffic crash Thursday evening, officials said.

City of Miami officers were dispatched to a Baker Act call in the 900 block of SW 30th Avenue and requested emergency backup, police said. 

The officer en route crashed in the area of Loquat Avenue and Southwest 37th Avenue.

Footage showed the officer being placed into an ambulance. The officer was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center where they were checked out for leg pain, officials said.
