Miami Woman Arrested After Allegedly Breaking Into Cars Belonging to Miami Firefighters

The 18-year-old was arrested after allegedly breaking into nearly a dozen cars.

A teen is behind bars after she allegedly broke into almost a dozen vehicles belonging to Miami firefighters this week.

Chelsea Velez was arrested Thursday night and charged with a long list of counts, including armed burglary, two counts of grand theft, three counts of credit card fraud and 10 counts of criminal mischief.

According to Miami Police, Velez broke into the personal vehicles outside of a Fire Rescue station located off NE 62nd Street and 1st Avenue on Wednesday. Officers found items from those vehicles when they arrested Velez, as well as items believed to have been from other thefts in the city and county.

Velez is currently being held on no bond based on the armed burglary charge.
