A Miramar man arrested after he was allegedly distributing more than 188 child porn files is an information technology worker at a Miami school, NBC 6 has learned.
Douglas Sands, 32, was arrested Wednesday by a multi-agency task force, authorities said.
It turns out Sands is an IT worker at Scheck Hillel Community School in North Miami Beach.
Sands faced a judge on Thursday, but as of Monday, parents at the school had no idea about his arrest.
"I'm just, this is a little shocking to me, I just, as a parent, would like to be notified of something like this." one parent said. "I have a young child at the school."
NBC 6 tried contacting the school's chief operating officer, but hasn't heard back. At Sands' home Monday, a woman who answered the door said the truth will come out.
According to an arrest report, deputies discovered a total of 30 videos of children engaged in sexual acts on Sands' bedroom computer. Some of the children were as young as four years old, authorities said.
