New Details Released in Search for Miami Beach Sex Assault Suspect

Police have released more information on the man wanted for allegedly sexually assaulting a young girl.

Miami Beach Police released new details Wednesday in the search for a suspect in the alleged sexual assault of a young girl in a portable bathroom.

A new police flyer details the suspect being sought in the Oct. 11 incident involving a 7-year-old girl who was lured from an open space park at 79th Street and the beachwalk into the bathroom at a nearby construction site.

Police said they're looking for a Hispanic male, possibly Central American, ages 25-35, 5-foot-4 to 5-foot-6 with a square build and light brown and shaggy hair. The man was wearing an off-white or grey short sleeve shirt with striping on the sleeve and a number 3 on the back, possibly a soccer jersey.

According to police, the suspect told the girl he had a knife and touched her inappropriately. He fled when he was confronted by the girl's father.

Police are looking for anyone who may have taken photos in the area that day or anyone with information. The Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers number to call is 305-471-TIPS.
