NBC Provides Another Season of Great NFL Coverage Starting Thursday Night

As the NFL prepares to kick off another season Thursday night, NBC will again be there for all the action and the best games each week – now with even more games televised by the network.

In addition to the package of Sunday Night games – still the top rated primetime show on television – NBC has joined with the NFL Network to televise five Thursday Night games over the course of the season.

The new partnership means the games will be simulcast on both networks starting in November. The deal is in addition to NBC’s coverage of the league’s opening game this Thursday – a Super Bowl rematch between the champion Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers - and the Thanksgiving night showdown between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Indianapolis Colts.

It will be the fifth straight year NBC will broadcast a game on Thanksgiving – but that won’t be the only holiday you can catch the NFL on NBC this year, as the network will show games on both Christmas and New Year’s Day with both being on a Sunday this season.

As in years past, NBC will be able to “flex schedule” games that may be better than the one originally picked starting with Week Five of the regular season. The network will announce their game for Week 17 later in the season.
