Authorities said an off-duty Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office deputy shot a man who aggressively approached the deputy outside his Royal Palm Beach home.
Palm Beach sheriff's officials said the deputy had just pulled his patrol car into his driveway Wednesday when Aldo Alvarez approached him and asked if he was a deputy. The conversation quickly turned into a physical altercation. Authorities said the deputy tried to retreat and repeatedly told Alvarez to leave. When Alvarez refused, the deputy pulled out his gun and again asked Alvarez to leave, but the suspect continued advancing toward him.
