What to Know

  • The school was shut down following a shooting in which 17 people, mostly students, were killed.
  • The accused gunman confessed to the shooting, according to police.
  • The school had a partial reopening on Wednesday but the normal schedule will resume next week.

The first full day for students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School has been scheduled for Wednesday.

The school will also be open on Monday and Tuesday but students will be released at 12:40 p.m., according to a robocall the school sent to parents.

MSD partially reopened on Wednesday for students.

"I'm very nervous, but at the same time I'm excited to be back in school," freshman Simon Miller said on Wednesday. "While I don't know if it will ever be the same as it was, I think I kind of need to be ready for school and to come to terms with what happened."

The school closed after a shooting in which 17 people were killed on Feb. 14.
