Police are investigating after two men with gunshot wounds were found on Interstate 95 early Saturday morning.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a call came in around 3 a.m. about two people who were shot in a vehicle on southbound I-95 near NW 54th Street.

Troopers found one man outside the car with multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center, where he later died.

Another man was found dead in the passenger seat.

FHP Trooper Joe Sanchez said that the car was riddled with bullets when it was found on the highway, but they do not know where exactly the shooting took place.

"We know the shooting did not take place on I-95, it took place somewhere in the city," Sanchez said. "But it did end up here on 95."

The identities of the victims have not yet been released.

Authorities are now searching for at least one gunman. Anyone with information is urged to contact Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS (8477).
