Hurricane Matthew remained a Category 3 storm Thursday and was expected to bring hurricane or tropical storm-force winds to parts of South Florida.

NBC 6 has projections of what wind gusts could be in Miami-Dade and Broward County based on the most recent advisory from the National Hurricane Center.

Broward could see wind gusts of 50-60 mph during the day Thursday with gusts of 70-80 mph Thursday night. Gusts could be up to 50 mph on Friday.

Miami-Dade could see winds between 25-35 mph Thursday with gusts up to 65 mph Thursday night. Winds gusts on Friday could reach 40 mph.

The National Hurricane Center warns to not focus too much on forecast tracks of the storm. A slight change in direction could impact wind gusts.
