Small Plane Crash Lands in Bay on Miami Beach Following Engine Problems

A small plane crashed into the water near Miami Beach. The pilot opened up about the incident on Friday. NBC 6’s Nathalia Ortiz reports.

Officials say a small plane made an emergency landing on Miami Beach at 41st Street and Collins Avenue Friday afternoon. 

According to Miami Beach Fire officials, a banner plane was having engine trouble. 

The pilot, who was the only person in the plane, was able to land it in the bay behind Mt. Sinai Hospital.

The pilot was able to safely swim to the seawall. Rescue officials were able to find him and save him.
