- People are searching for multiple people they say broke into a jewelry store in Southwest Miami-Dade around 2 AM Tuesday.
An early morning break-in at a Southwest Miami-Dade jewelry store has police searching for what they say are multiple people involved.
Officials say the incident happened around 2 a.m. at the Leon Jewelry store located off Miller Road and Southwest 97th Avenue. Between three and four crooks reportedly poked a hole in the roof to get inside.
Once inside, an alarm was set off inside the store that notified the owners of the break-in. By the time both the owners and police arrived, those involved had left the scene without taking anything.
The case is being investigated, with officers towing away a vehicle that may have been involved as well as several power tools left at the scene.
Owner Leon Heriberto said it's the third time his store has been targeted.
