Sketch Released of Man Wanted for Attempted Abduction in Oakland Park

A man is wanted for allegedly trying to abduct a woman as she headed home from work in Oakland Park.

According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, the victim got off the bus around 9:30 p.m. on Feb. 7 and walked through the parking lot of a Burger King.

As she crossed the parking lot, she said she noticed a silver car enter the lot. The driver asked her if she needed a ride, and the victim declined. She then watched the man drive past her and park in a vacant lot at West 33rd Street and North Andrews Avenue.

BSO said the women tried to avoid the suspect by crossing the street but he continued to follow her in his car and parked in three different places along Andrews Avenue to stake her out.

As the 21-year-old woman crossed Northwest 35th Court, BSO said the suspect approached her and grabbed her arm saying: "Come on, let's go."

The victim was able to break free and ran toward a group of people standing outside Blanca's Bakery on North Andrews Avenue. The man then fled.

He was last seen driving south on North Andrews Avenue. He is unshaven, has an athletic body and is about 5-feet 7-inches tall. His four-door vehicle is silver with dark-tinted windows. It may be a Ford Fusion.
