The rise in gas prices continues across South Florida this week – with drivers paying nearly 50 cents more than at this same point last year.

The average price for a gallon of fuel sits at $2.82 for the Sunshine State, which is four cents below the national average but still the highest prices since November 2014 according to AAA.

At $2.85, Fort Lauderdale has one of the highest averages in the state – but drivers can go to the Valero station at 1199 West State Road 84 for the cheapest gas at $2.71.

In Miami-Dade, the cheapest gas is at the Marathon station located at 2442 West Flagler Street where drivers will pay just $2.63 a gallon.
