South Florida Hosts Several Food Distribution Events Thursday During Pandemic

NBC 6’s Julia Bagg has more from an event in Hialeah, one of the latest helping the community during the pandemic.

Several locations across South Florida held food distributions on Thursday to help families during the coronavirus pandemic.

In Fort Lauderdale, residents headed to Mills Pond Park from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The first 1,000 cars got food on a first come, first serve basis until it all ran out.

Several other events took place in Broward County, including one starting at 9 a.m. at the Miramar Regional Park and another in Pembroke Pines starting at 10 a.m. at the Charles F. Dodge City Center.

In Miami-Dade County, the city of Hialeah hosted a food distribution event starting at 10 a.m. at Goodlet Park organized by elected officials.
