A teen accused of burning his twin brother's ex-girlfriend's car with a Molotov cocktail in Miami is facing serious charges.

Dinio Ramos, 17, was arrested Thursday on charges including arson, possession of a firebomb and criminal mischief, Miami-Dade jail records showed.

"(Ramos) wanted them to break up, and he thought that by doing this, it would cause him to break up," said Michael Vega of the Miami Police Department. "Eventually it did."

Records showed a Molotov cocktail was found next to the victim's vehicle, and that she received messages with pictures of her car on fire.

Video obtained by NBC6 shows the moment police say Ramos pours liquid all over the back of a car. With gloves on, he ignites the liquid, steps back and continues recording.

Ramos also at one point had a backpack filled with tape, nails, gloves, canned heat, a hand saw and matches, records showed.

Juan Carlos Asencio, the father of the victim, told NBC6 she didn’t want to leave the house – she refused to go to school and was panicked. Her car was severely burned and house-made explosives were found on the property.

When the Molotov cocktails exploded, Asencio said he found nails all over. The sidewalk still had residue.

Police said Ramos confessed to the crime.

"The defendant acknowledged he could have caused a house fire, possibly killing several people," Vega said. "They also found several items in the house, including a box of nails, latex gloves."

Ramos, who's being charged as an adult, appeared in court Friday where he was granted house arrest.
