Tolls on Most Florida Roadways Returning Thursday

The tolls on roads like the Florida’s Turnpike had been suspended in the wake of Hurricane Irma in an effort to help those who needed to evacuate get out quicker.

Tolls that were suspended during Hurricane Irma are being reinstated on most Florida roadways beginning Thursday.

The tolls on Florida's Turnpike, roads and bridges will be reinstated at 12:01 a.m. Thursday, Florida Department of Transportation officials said.

Tolls will remain suspended on the Homestead Extension of Florida's Turnpike south of the interchange with State Road 874 to assist Monroe County residents with recovery efforts.

Officials suspended the tolls on Sept. 5 to help with Irma evacuation.
