Week 16 Preview: Colts at Dolphins

The Dolphins and Indianapolis Colts will face off on Sunday at Sun Life Stadium

The Miami Dolphins will host the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday at Sun Life Stadium in the penultimate game of the regular season.

While Miami is eliminated from postseason contention, Indianapolis still has some hope remaining. Despite their 6-8 record, the Colts are only one game back of division leading Houston. Indianapolis faces a must-win scenario in this game as a loss could potentially eliminate it officially.

The Colts will be without quarterback Andrew Luck who has been out of action since early November with a kidney and abdomen injury. Luck could return for the Colts' season finale next week, but is unavailable for this game. Matt Hasselbeck is expected to be behind center for the Colts for this game despite several injuries of his own.

The Dolphins are playing mostly for pride and draft positioning at this point. With two losses in a row, Miami has a 5-9 record and has quickly fallen in the standings. A top-5 draft pick remains a possibility for a team that entered the year with playoff aspirations. With a losing season clinched, it remains likely that Miami will overhaul its coaching staff as well after the year.

Ryan Tannehill's job appears secure heading into next season due to his contract and a lack of an heir apparent. The QB has endured a down year and has been wildly inconsistent. Downhill is on pace to have a lower QB rating than his previous season for the first time in his career. Entering this game, Tannehill's rating stands at 87.3 as opposed to 92.8 in 2014.

Miami is expected to be without Mike Pouncey in this game as the center battles foot and ankle injuries. Pouncey is officially listed as questionable for the game after suffering the injuries in last week's loss. Earlier this week, Pouncey was named to the Pro Bowl as Miami's lone representative.

Sunday's game been Indianapolis and Miami will start at 1:00 p.m.
