Miami police officers have arrested Lissett Hernandez nine months after an accident that killed a passenger in the vehicle she was driving.
In the early morning hours of May 25, City of Miami Police responded to an accident at S. Dixie Highway and 15th Avenue. Hernandez was speeding in her 1995 Explorer when she lost control of the vehicle, striking the concrete curb and flipping her vehicle. polic allege.
The backseat passenger in the vehicle, Jableidy Roman, was partially ejected and died on the scene as a result of her injuries.
The other passenger in the vehicle, Jessica Francoise, was transported to Mercy Hospital for minor injuries. Hernandez was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital with a broken arm.
Police later determined Hernandez was intoxicated at the time of the crash. She has been charged with DUI manslaughter and is scheduled to appear in court on Feb. 22.
