A man with a knife attempted to harm himself early Thursday morning on Rockefeller Plaza in New York, prompting security crews and the NYPD to temporarily shut down the plaza. “He was controlled by our security team out there. However, he did harm himself in some way, so he’s now being attended to by medical personnel,” Matt Lauer said on “Today.” Lauer later tweeted that the man was under police control and in custody.
