Wendy Williams Blames Use of Painkillers for Slurred Words on Telecast

Earlier this year Williams took three weeks off for medical reasons as she dealt with her Graves' Disease and hyperthyroidism

Talk show host Wendy Williams took to social media Thursday to explain and apologize for an incident on her show earlier in the day where she slurred her words and look noticeably confused while introducing musical guests, the Lox.

"As I reported earlier in the week, I have a hairline fracture on my upper arm, which hurts like hell," Williams wrote. "I’ve never broken a bone or experienced a fracture in my life. In the key place where the fracture is, and trying to scurry around and do too much, I am now paying the price."

Earlier this year Williams took three weeks off for medical reasons as she dealt with her Graves' Disease and hyperthyroidism. In October 2017 the talk show host took a scary tumble after fainting on live TV during a Halloween broadcast.

At the time Williams blamed the episode on being dehydrated and overt heated in her costume

"I promise you a better Wendy in 2019," Williams said. "I will get some much needed rest and healing over these next couple of weeks.
