The Miami Marlins won a high scoring back-and-forth contest against the Texas Rangers on Tuesday by a final of 8-5.
Arlington is known for hosting games that are seemingly never out of reach and this one held true to that. The lead changed hands a few times but ultimately Miami was able to secure the win with a three-run eighth inning.
The win was the 13th straight win in interleague for the Marlins which dates back to 2013. That streak is tied for the Major League record and Miami can set a new mark with a win on Wednesday.
Tom Koehler was pitching well and in line for the win until a four-run sixth inning for Texas took him out of the game. Koehler ended up with a no-decision by allowing five runs in 5.1 innings. The right-hander struck out seven but also walked three. Those free passes along with five hits ended up costing Koehler the chance at a victory.

The win was credited to Bryan Morris who turned in 1.1 scoreless innings and was the pitcher of the record before the Marlins rallied to take the lead. Steve Cishek worked the ninth and did so with a 1-2-3 inning for his 15th save of the season.
Christian Yelich had a big day at the plate going 4-6 with four runs batted in. The left-fielder doubled twice to give him 12 on the season. Giancarlo Stanton (16) also doubled which was a positive sign after a lackluster series in Wrigley Field for the slugger.
Rookie Justin Bour making only his second major league start was 3 for 5 with two runs scored. The three hits tied a franchise record for a designated hitter. The mark was originally set by Logan Morrison in 2012.
The Marlins will look to sweep the two-game series on Wednesday when Jacob Turner is scheduled to make the start.
