The winning goal came across at 3:27 in overtime off the stick of Brad Marchand.

Florida's goal was put in the net by Jussi Jokinen early into the second period. It was the first goal of the year for Jokinen. The 31-year old has five assists on the season and this was the fifth straight game where he recorded at least one point. The goal was assisted on by Brad Boyes and Aaron Ekblad.

Sean Bergenheim and Aleksander Barkov missed the game with lower body injuries while Jonathan Huberdeau sat out with the flu.

The Panthers will stay on the road and travel to Philadelphia on Thursday for a game with the Flyers at 7:00 p.m.
