Doctor: Patient May Be First Locally-Transmitted Zika Case in Broward

There hasn’t been a locally-contracted case of Zika in Broward County officially but a recent positive result at the Broward Medical and Urgent Care Center could be the first. A 54-year-old woman who came to the clinic at 103 Southeast 23rd Street last week was complaining of muscle aches, fatigue and a rash. The doctor tested her for Zika and sent it off to the state lab where it was confirmed she has the virus.
