Traditional types generally try to work their way up the proverbial ladder of success, and with every wrung risk wringing their own necks. Others dispense with the steps completely, and instead take the elevator, assuring their ascent is both smooth and certain. Dillon Francis represents the latter variety. A scant two years ago nobody even knew the producer/DJ’s name; now he boasts props from faves such as Major Lazer and Rusko, and alignings with Skrillex (OWSLA), A-Trak (Fool’s Gold) and Diplo (Mad Decent). The bass heavy racket-maker is also headlining his own tour, and it promises to bring you lower than you ever been before. It’s called Wet and Reckless and it rumbles into Grand Central this Saturday night.
Who the hell is Dillon Francis? Your mom's favorite DJ.
If your sound had to be summed up in a single sentence, what would it be? MOOMBAHTON!!
How ‘bout a single sentence for the vision behind said sound? Kid tested, mother approved.
Will all that (and then some) be evident at Grand Central this Saturday night? This Saturday is going to be WET & RECKLESS.
Speaking of evident, what evidence is there to support the fact that Dillon Francis is a large part of the Moombahton racket? It must be my secret taco exporting...
What other phenomena might DF be considered aligned with? Ummm... NASA, midgets, and pizza.
Any last words before we come see you prove it? No. Listen to my new single "Bootleg Fireworks" [below].
Dillon Francis Wet and Reckless Tour, with Clockwork and Baauer, takes place Saturday November 17 at Grand Central. For more information log on here.
