A North Lauderdale school was placed on lockdown Wednesday while authorities searched for several suspects in the area, officials said.

Silver Lakes Middle School at 7600 Tam Oshanter Boulevard was placed on lockdown as a precaution, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.

The lockdown ended Wednesday afternoon, with two suspects in custody and a third still at large, the BSO said.

The incident began when deputies tried to pull over a possible stolen vehicle and the suspects bailed out and fled on foot near the school, the BSO said.
