12 Arrested in BSO Prostitution Sting: Deputies

Deputies arrested 12 prostitutes in a one-night sting, early Friday.

The Broward Sheriff's Office arrested 12 prostitutes early Friday morning in a one-night sting in Central Broward, officials said.

Undercover detectives solicited sex for money from street-level prostitutes along the 600 to 900 blocks of the Northwest 27th Avenue in a four-hour operation, according to a press release from the Broward Sheriff's Office.

The sting was carried out after residents had complained that there were prostitutes in the neighborhood, the release said.

Jail records show both men and women in their 20s and 30s were taken into custody.
