Authorities are investigating after a man's body was discovered inside a warehouse that went up in flames in Pompano Beach Tuesday morning.

The fire broke out at the warehouse at 650 Northeast 27th Street, the Broward Sheriff's Office said. A passerby called 911 to report the fire just before 5 a.m., officials said.

When firefighters arrived they found flames and heavy smoke. The body of 53-year-old Robert Posley was quickly discovered inside.

The warehouses in the area mostly house cars, boats and related equipment.

Broward Sheriff's Office homicide and crime scene units were responding to the scene. No other information was immediately known.
