A young Rhode Island boy who is battling leukemia is receiving a special birthday surprise from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.

Tyler Seddon, of Pascoag, Rhode Island, is celebrating his seventh birthday and is a big fan of police and firefighters.

So as a gift from the Fort Lauderdale Police Department, officers came together to sing happy birthday to Tyler in a video.

"Although the City of Fort Lauderdale, geographically is not considered 'local' to the Seddon family, our agency wanted to help make this birthday unforgettable for Tyler," the department said.

Tyler was recently diagnosed with leukemia for a second time, after battling it for the first time when he was 3 years old. His birthday is March 6.
