Udonis Haslem will be suiting up for a 14th season with the Miami Heat after inking a new deal on Sunday.
The Heat will reportedly pay Haslem around $4 million on the one-year deal. The two sides could re-visit another one-year contract after next season as well. Haslem sets a franchise record with this deal for the longest tenure with the team.
“For over a decade, Udonis has embodied what it means to wear the Miami Heat uniform,” said Heat President Pat Riley. “He has been the pillar and constant of this organization, and is a true champion in every sense of the word. We are thrilled that Udonis is back to help impart his leadership and instill the Heat culture with his new teammates.”
Haslem's former teammate Dwyane Wade chimed in on the deal as well.

While Haslem doesn't play big minutes, he makes the most of his time on the court. The veteran is a fan favorite thanks in part to his hard-nosed defense and clutch play. If there was an enforcer role in the NBA, Haslem would fill that job for the Heat.

With a young roster and a possible lack of depth in terms of big men, Haslem could see a slightly increased role in 2016-17. Besides his on-court work, Haslem is an important veteran presence for the Heat.
Miami had a busy afternoon on Sunday as it also signed several other players to new contracts. The Heat could still make moves leading up to next season.
