Police are investigating after a man was found murdered inside a home in Fort Lauderdale.

The body of the victim, identified as 68-year-old Guy Eargle Jr., was found inside the home at 429 Southeast 17th Avenue Monday evening, Fort Lauderdale Police officials said.

Detectives haven't said how Eargle died but said he was murdered. Eargle was a part time resident of Fort Lauderdale and Atlanta.

"I just saw this here and I was concerned. I saw the criminal investigations truck and I assumed something really bad happened but I wasn't sure what," neighbor Andy Costa said. "We've lived here 37 years and nothing has happened in this neighborhood remotely close to this."
