Man Gets Life Sentence in Murder of TGI Friday's Cook

A South Florida man has been sentenced to life in prison for fatally stabbing a cook outside a TGI Friday's.

A Broward County judge sentenced Luke Chamberlain on Thursday after a jury found him guilty of murder, the Sun-Sentinel reported.

Authorities say 53-year-old Antoine Gracius was attacked outside the Pembroke Pines restaurant in 2011 as part of an attempted robbery.

At the time of the murder, police said they believe Gracius was targeted for his gold necklace.

Gracius, who moved to the U.S. from Haiti in 2002, left behind a wife and nine children.

Chamberlain was arrested after a DNA match was made with blood left at the scene, police said.

Police say Chamberlain had approached one of Gracius' coworkers in the T.G.I. Friday's parking lot 20 minutes before the stabbing, asking him for money.
