Police said they've arrested a 16-year-old boy for allegedly stealing a car with a 10-month-old baby inside in Fort Lauderdale.
The teen, a resident of Pompano Beach, was taken into custody Friday thanks to fingerprints left in the vehicle, Fort Lauderdale Police confirmed.
The incident happened Monday afternoon outside the Laundromax at 201 West Sunrise Boulevard, when authorities said the suspect exited the laundromat and drove off in a green Chevy Cruze with baby Yareli Velasco inside.
An Amber Alert was issued and the car was later found abandoned in the 900 block of West McNab Road in Pompano Beach with Velasco safe inside.
Police didn't say what exact charges the teen will face or whether he'll be charged as an adult.
