The Miami Dolphins can't catch a break - not even on Twitter.

Just a week after making a pitch for tight end Jeremy Shockey, it looks like the former University of Miami star won't be coming home after all.

Shockey tweeted Thursday that it "Looks like I'm signing with Carolina," which isn't a neighborhood in the 305.

"Time for the Next chapter. This is a great opportunity for me, and I am excited to play football," Shockey tweeted.

Fans were excited about Shockey from the moment news broke that the Pro Bowler had been released by the New Orleans Saints. Some saw Shockey as the security blanket young quarterback Chad Henne desperately needs to attack the middle of the field.

It's unclear if the Dolphins actually made an offer to Shockey, who has a reputation for getting injured. He passed his physical with the team, but maybe something else turned the Dolphins off.

Or maybe home really wasn't where Shockey's heart is.
