Weather wise, you’ll stay a little bit drier for the rest of the week as rain chances go down heading into the holiday weekend with high temperatures in the upper 80s.

No. 1 - Subtropical Storm Andrea formed Monday evening in the Atlantic, some 700 miles northeast of Miami.

The system was investigated by a reconnaissance aircraft and found to have a closed circulation and winds of 40 mph, but meteorologists say it is expected to weaken late Tuesday and dissipate on Wednesday as the system is not a threat to the United States.

No. 2 - A man armed with a rifle was killed in a police shootout Monday after a murder investigation led detectives to a neighborhood in Miami Gardens.

Miami-Dade Sgt. Erin Alfonso said detectives were following up on leads from a deadly shooting over the weekend outside a pawn shop in Opa-locka. The investigation led them to the neighborhood in the area of Northwest 207th Street and 23rd Court, near Hard Rock Stadium.

No. 3 - Parents met with Broward school officials after they pulled their kids from a Pembroke Pines classroom amid accusations that teachers verbally and physically abused their children with special needs.

Ezra Adar, who has autism, was pulled from class at Pasadena Lakes Elementary School earlier this month after his parents heard his teachers yelling at kids through an app that's used to communicate with him.

No. 4 - Could the city of Homestead be the new home for the Ultra Music Festival? The city council is meeting today to talk about bringing the festival to the Homestead Miami Speedway, but Miami Beach wants to return the event to its original home.

No. 5 - President Donald Trump directed his former White House Counsel Donald McGahn to defy a congressional subpoena Monday, citing a Justice Department legal opinion that maintains McGahn would have immunity from testifying about his work as a close Trump adviser.

A lawyer for McGahn said he would follow the president's wishes and skip a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Tuesday.
