No. 1 - Subtropical Storm Andrea formed Monday evening in the Atlantic, some 700 miles northeast of Miami.
The system was investigated by a reconnaissance aircraft and found to have a closed circulation and winds of 40 mph, but meteorologists say it is expected to weaken late Tuesday and dissipate on Wednesday as the system is not a threat to the United States.
No. 2 - A man armed with a rifle was killed in a police shootout Monday after a murder investigation led detectives to a neighborhood in Miami Gardens.
Miami-Dade Sgt. Erin Alfonso said detectives were following up on leads from a deadly shooting over the weekend outside a pawn shop in Opa-locka. The investigation led them to the neighborhood in the area of Northwest 207th Street and 23rd Court, near Hard Rock Stadium.

A lawyer for McGahn said he would follow the president's wishes and skip a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Tuesday.
